Software · Property · Over-55s Living

Enduring businesses.
Patient capital.

Hurn Capital builds enterprise software, and owns and operates property and an over-55s community, with a long horizon and an owner’s discipline.

Overview

A private holding company built on three things people will always need.

Systems they can trust. Somewhere to live. A community to grow older in. Hurn Capital invests in and runs businesses in each of these, and connects them through a single standard: build it properly, own it for the long term, and be accountable for how it performs.

We are an Australian company. We work with a small number of aligned investors who share our view of time.

Holdings

Three platforms. One standard.

Software

Our principal business: software for decisions that matter.

We build enterprise software for organisations that must show their reasoning: evidence-based platforms that stand up to auditors, boards and regulators. It is where we invest most, and where the group is growing.

Property

Places to live and work, held for the long term.

We acquire and develop residential and commercial property chosen for location, build quality and dependable income, and we keep it. Ownership is measured in decades, not cycles.

A quiet street of single-storey homes with verandahs and established gardens, with a shared clubhouse beyond.

Over-55s Living

Independence, with community close by.

We own and operate a quiet, supportive community for people over 55. Residents live independently in their own homes, with gardens, shared spaces and neighbours around them, and a community that is run with care for the long term.

One standard.

Four buildings around a courtyard, joined by one line.

Our mark describes how we work: separate businesses, each standing on its own, held together by a common standard. Build it properly, own it for the long term, and be accountable for how it performs.

Approach

How we invest, and how we behave.

  1. I

    A long horizon

We hold what we build. Patient ownership lets us make the decisions a quarterly owner cannot.

  2. II

    Owners who operate

We run our businesses ourselves. The people who make the decisions live with the results.

  3. III

    Capital discipline

We grow from strength, structure conservatively and judge every dollar by what it returns over time.

  4. IV

    Aligned interests

We invest alongside our partners and report to them plainly, in good years and difficult ones.

Investors

Partners who share a long view.

We work with a small number of aligned investors, introduced to us through our existing relationships.

Opportunities are available only to wholesale or sophisticated investors as defined under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
